This workshop explores topics at the intersections of feminism, logic, and religion. It provides a space to center religious thought and critique by scholars who are underrepresented due to their gender and/or sexual identities, as well as the marginalized nature of their work. This brings to the forefront the way different methodological and foundational starting points shape our systems of reasoning and belief.
Liberatory and feminist critiques of religion have exposed how major religious frameworks frequently naturalize patriarchal structures, exclusive language, and gendered hierarchies of knowledge. Importantly, feminist work has actively reshaped religious discourse from within, reinterpreting texts, recovering marginalized voices, and proposing new models of the divine that center relationality, embodiment, and liberation.
